š° THIS WEEKāS HOT NEWS
š§ Pudgy Penguins hit with trademark lawsuit
The NFT project Pudgy Penguins is now facing legal trouble. The owner of the Original Penguin clothing brand has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit, claiming the NFT companyās penguin-themed branding could confuse consumers.
PEI Licensing, which operates the Original Penguin apparel brand, says Pudgy Penguins used penguin-related trademarks and designs that resemble its own long-standing marks used on clothing since the 1950s and 1960s.
The lawsuit highlights a growing clash between traditional brands and crypto-native companies expanding into physical merchandise.
š Altseason mentions are fading
For months, traders have been waiting for the next āaltseason.ā But the hype may be cooling off.
Recent data shows that online mentions of altseason are dropping sharply, suggesting traders are becoming more cautious about expecting a broad altcoin rally. Instead, market attention is shifting back to major assets like Bitcoin.
While altcoins still see occasional bursts of momentum, the narrative that āaltseason is comingā may be losing traction ā at least for now.
š Bitcoin hits a four-week high
Bitcoin surged to its highest level in about four weeks, giving the market a boost after a quieter period.
The move comes as investors continue to monitor macroeconomic signals and ETF-related inflows. The rally also reinforces Bitcoinās dominant position in the market, especially as interest in altcoins temporarily cools.
For traders watching market sentiment, Bitcoinās strength often sets the tone for the rest of the crypto ecosystem.
ā ļø Polymarket archives controversial nuclear prediction market
Prediction market platform Polymarket has quietly archived a contract that allowed users to bet on the possibility of a nuclear weapon detonation.
The market sparked heavy criticism online, especially after odds posted on social media suggested a significant probability of such an event. Critics argued that allowing speculation on catastrophic global events raises ethical and regulatory concerns.
Following the backlash, the contract disappeared from the platform without a detailed explanation, adding to the debate around prediction markets and their boundaries.
