Two massive predictions, a Binance twist, and Meta enters the game

Investors see ANOTHER return from Masterworks (!!!!)

That’s 6 sales in 7 months. 29 all time. And the performance?

16.5%, 17.6%, and 17.8%, net annualized returns on sold works held longer than one year (See all 29 at Masterworks.com)

It’s not from stocks, private equity, or real estate… it’s from contemporary and post war art. Crazy, right?

With Masterworks, you don’t need to be a BILLIONAIRE to invest in multi-million dollar art anymore.

Historically, the segment overall has had attractive appreciation and low correlation to stocks.*

Masterworks targets works featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso, identifying what they believe to have significant long-term appreciation potential, not just at the artist level but at the level of individual artworks.

As one of the largest players in the art market, with $1.3 billion invested over 500 artworks, they pass critical advantages through to their 70,000+ members to add art to their portfolios strategically.

BIG CALLS, A REGTECH EXIT, AND META'S NEXT MOVE 👀

Happy Friday! This week gave us some bold price targets: a $319 call on HYPE, a $3,500 bet on Aave, plus Binance's unexpected licensing pivot in the EU, and Mark Zuckerberg quietly building what could be the biggest prediction market app on the planet. Let's get into it.

📰 TOP STORIES THIS WEEK

Multicoin Capital says HYPE is "deeply mispriced" — sets $319 target for 2028

Multicoin Capital disclosed HYPE as one of the largest positions in its liquid fund and published a full valuation report calling the token mispriced at $63. Its base-case target: $319 by 2028, over 400% upside, built on an $8B annual earnings forecast at a 20x multiple. The firm sees Hyperliquid not as a perp DEX but as a vertically integrated "everything exchange," with 59% DeFi open interest share and monthly perps volume at 17% of Binance's. HIP-3 already brought in real-world assets like S&P 500 perps and SpaceX shares. HIP-4 adds options and prediction markets.

Standard Chartered initiates Aave with a $3,500 price target for 2030

Standard Chartered's digital assets head Geoff Kendrick kicked off coverage of Aave with a $3,500 end-2030 target, roughly 50x from current levels. His thesis: tokenized assets in DeFi grow 37-fold by 2030, stablecoin supply hits $2T, and Aave, the protocol he calls a "bank without employees", captures a big slice of that. Aave deposits took a hit after April's KelpDAO exploit ($44B to $23B), but the bank sees recovery underway. USDT deposits are flowing back, V4 launched in March, and Horizon (its RWA lending market) held $163M in active loans by end of May.

Binance pulls its Greece MiCA application

Days before the EU's MiCA transitional period closes on July 1, Binance withdrew its licensing application with Greece's HCMC. The exchange said it worked "constructively and in good faith" with the regulator but received no formal decision before the deadline. Binance confirmed it's pursuing authorization in a different EU member state, but isn't naming which one yet. Some EU users may be affected depending on account status. The exchange says all funds remain safe, and its European head Gillian Lynch told Reuters clearly: Binance is "not leaving Europe."

Meta is building a prediction market app

Meta is quietly developing a standalone prediction markets app called Arena, according to the New York Times. It will let users bet on outcomes across sports and politics, likely starting with a points system, with real-money wagers potentially coming later. The app won't live inside Facebook or Instagram; it's meant to stand alone. Meta has 3.56 billion daily active users to funnel into it. Prediction market volumes topped $150B this year. Competitors already include FanDuel, Gemini, and DraftKings. Meta tried something similar with "Forecast" in 2020, that one shut down in 2022. This time, the stakes are much higher.
